Hold your breath

Hold your breath

Leandro Erlich , an argentinian artist created this fake pool called The Swimming Pool, for The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan.
Two clear acrylic glasses about a foot apart and filled the space in between with water. The top surface is also filled with about 4 to 5 inches of water so that it looks like a realistic pool. Brilliant Leandro!!

We want on in our flat!

well….I dont know

well….I dont know

Came across photos by Li Wei. what the? they make you think a few rounds before figuring out how it´s done. Apparently Li Wei says that his images, often self portraits, aren’t  computer montages. But that  he works with the help of props mirrors, acrobatics, metal wires. And then removes the wires in photoshop. how ever he does it. Refreshing images.

Atomic; full of love, full of wonder

Just found these pictures from the “Atomic: full of love, full of wonder”  exhibition by artist Nike Savvas back in 2005.  Suspended bouncy balls galore, accompanied by electric fans to swirl them in wave motions. brilliant.

who said that it was

Although the rest of his work differs a little from this. Brazilian based Adams Carvalhos clean lines and hues in these illustrations tickle my fancy.

The art of books

The art of books

I saw these pieces of art it struck me that I had never seen anything like this before. I guess that is a true sign of the artist having found their own way of art may it be through style, technique, material, shape, outcome or whatever. I’d say the artist Guy Laramee has totally created an instant recognition in these books turned into landscapes. Truly original and beautiful.

The Obliteration Room

“The Obliteration Room” is an exhibition concept by Yayoi Kusama that is absolutely brilliant.
The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art was painted all white and during two weeks thousands of colored polka dot stickers were handed out to children to put up in the space. The result is amazing.

Terri Timely Synesthesia

Let’s round 2011 up with this weird but rad little film. Don’t know too much about this production, except that it is by Terri Timely, which is a co-lab between Corey Creasey and Ian Kibbey from Oakland, California. There’s more where that came from too.
