A film producer got in touch with me. He had seen my art featured on blogs. He was getting started on a Hollywood film that sounded like a dream project. He asked me if I wanted to work with it? I said YES.
Jeff Hakman has been one of my heroes in the history of surfing. He has a story of life more interesting than most people on the planet which is captured in the book “Mr Suset: The Jeff Hakman Story” by Phil Jarratt.
Based on the book, a screenplay written by Jamie Brisick was this story transforming into a Hollywood feature film. With some heavy names in a possible director seat, the award winning and world renowned producer made it clear that this film is aiming high and to include the best in the business.
I came onboard as an Art Director for the project with the task of creating a visual concept to explain the movie idea and to attract interest for the project among a future production team, actors, director, investors etc.
I decided to make a digital platform with an interactive sort of storyboard where extracts of the screenplay, images, info and references where all gathered in one place. I optimized the site to work on an iPad, and turned it all into a side scrolling timeline journey with interactive hotspots appearing down the line.
Proud to be working with this production, and proud of the work I did.
To create various visual identities and designs for upcoming mini series at Korduroy.tv to make it shine when pitching for potential investors and sponsors.
One of the most genius creatives of the surf industry of today, Cyrus Sutton turned to us in trust to give his new projects and mini series a visual identity and graphics to go with his scripts. Some of the designs went on to make it into the final production, some not. But all played an important role in selling the concepts to investors and sponsors. We were stoked to be working with Korduroy and Cyrus. Yeeeew!!!

To come up with the cover design for the first ever Swedish surf novel titled Lineup written by Jonas Terning.
Honored to create the visual impression of a great book. The story of the book takes place in Manly, Australia where a Swedish surfer finds himself in love with the ocean with girlfriends, gangsters, drugs and mythical big waves all a part of daily life.
Being a Swedish surfer living in this suburb of Sydney for 7 years, we felt we were the perfect artists for this book cover design.
To present the script and the team of a feature film to attract the right investors and potential partners, cast and crew.
Goldcrest films came to us with a fantastic feature film idea and loose script. They asked us to come up with a way to present the story, script, director, producers, cast and crew in an easy way. In other words sort of like a storyboard to in a glance give the look and feel of this French/Moroccan movie.
We created a digital storyboard / moodboard with snippets of the story, environments, actions and dialogues. The movie moving from the ghettos of Paris to the Rif mountains of Morocco, we based the sideways scrolling site on that and added key feature elements and characters down the line with hotspots to explore. All to make a mysterious world of KIF and for the user to interact with and discover themselves. Voila!
Art direction and typography for the short film “Firestation No 6”.
A film about consumption and planned obsolescence and the light bulb that got away, delivered in an abstract artful way. 110 years old and still burning at Firestation No 6 in California.
